RTE Pundit and organ donor campaigner Joe Brolly will be in Mayo on St Valentine’s Day, February 14, to join Mayo Roscommon Hospice and the Croagh Patrick Heritage Trail committee to launch their three-day walking festival.

The Croagh Patrick Heritage Trail is hosting a walk and talk to the Boheh Stone at 7.30pm from Brackloon Community Centre on Sunday August 24.

March 22 to March 24

National Trails Day will take place on Sunday October 2. Events in Mayo include: Mulranny and Look Out Hill Loop Walk, which has been described as one of the most beautiful walks on this island; introduction to Trail Walking Workshop, taking place in Cong, and Croagh Patrick Heritage Trail Guided Walk through archaeological/woodland heritage sites which will take place from Balla to Ballintubber.

There are two forthcoming charity events in Mayo. They both aim to raise money for the charity group Vita.

All thoughts of the long cold winter were banished when the first days of spring coincided with the start of the 2011 Croagh Patrick Heritage Trail (CPHT) Walking Festival.
